Dan Johnson Photography Reviews Yophoto

One of the options open to our clients has always been to put together their own album, either by using ordinary photographic prints in a conventional album from somewhere like Paperchase, or by ordering a printed book from one of several online sources.

We’ve always had reservations about the quality of printed albums from online suppliers, but we now have a sample from Yophoto and frankly we’re impressed.

Basically you download the software from the Yophoto site, upload your chosen image files, then after that it’s pretty much a drag-and-drop and check the box job. A week later, your neatly packaged album drops through your letterbox.

So what’s a Yophoto album really like? Well ours is A4 sized, it’s bound in black linen, and the standard of the actual bookbinding is about as good as it gets. The materials are good quality, the pages aren’t too flimp, and the printing’s a lot better than you see in most bridal magazines.

Perhaps the best test came though when we showed our sample to two couples, both of whom were well impressed and both of whom over-estimated the cost by between 60% and 100%.

A good product well made, with a design and ordering process that seems well thought out, and all that at a good price from a Brit firm.

Remarkable or what?
